The ministry’s file counts surgeries by specialty, not by operation. These examples say what the specialty operates on; they are not a breakdown of the queue.

Day surgeries, all specialties combined (MED-ÉCHO). Ask your doctor whether your surgery is done there.
What to do, step by step
- If you don’t have a referral yet, it starts with your doctor or the GAP (811, option 3). Say you’ll take the first available surgeon; the request then goes through the regional desk, the CRDS.
- Already referred and months without news? Call the hospital’s outpatient clinic. Ask where you sit, and whether another surgeon in the department moves faster.
- Once you’re on the operating list, say yes to cancellation call-backs, and answer your phone.
- And if nothing moves, go back to your doctor for a referral somewhere else. Another region is allowed, and sometimes that’s months saved.
The trick: ask for the first available surgeon instead of a specific name. Tell your doctor you’re willing to travel too, because a referral to another region is allowed and the gap sometimes runs into months. And if you’re offered a date, think before turning it down, because a refusal can put your file on hold.
These numbers count people, not months: they describe the state of the queue, not your own wait, which depends on the surgeon and on clinical priority. This page is independent of the ministry and books nothing.

The app
The site already does the real-time numbers, the map and the which-ER-to-drive-to part.
It opens from an icon, no address to type. And whatever you loaded last is still there when the signal drops, which it does in most hospital basements.
The app is free to download and everything inside it is free too: the wait times, the clinics, the surgery lists, one ER's last seven days with the hours it is usually quietest, and your own ERs pinned to the top of the list. No subscription, nothing left to unlock.
On the App Store it is called "Urgences Québec: temps attente".
On Google Play it is listed as “ER Wait Times Quebec Hospital”.
On a computer? The button above just loads a web page. Point your iPhone camera at this instead.
