For an urgent eye problem, ask for an emergency exam covered by the RAMQ. Bring your health card.
The details
Who it’s for
From 18 to 64, a regular eye exam is not covered for most people. An urgent eye problem (for example conjunctivitis or something in the eye) is covered for everyone.
Cost
You pay the optometrist; prices vary. Free if you have received financial assistance with a claim booklet (carnet de réclamation) for at least 12 months in a row (1 exam every 2 years), or if you have a visual impairment.
