Child development check

Child development check (Agir tôt program)

How to get it

1
Bring your child to the 18-month vaccine at the CLSC and ask for the development check.
2
Worried at any age before school? Call your CLSC and ask for the Agir tôt program.
3
A worker talks with you and decides which service fits. A doctor or daycare worker can also refer your child, with your OK.

What to say

““I have concerns about my child’s development. I would like the Agir tôt program.”

The details

Who it’s for

For children under 7 and their families. It looks for early signs of delays in speech, movement or behaviour, so the child gets help before school.

How often

At the 18-month vaccination, the CLSC nurse can fill in a development checklist (ABCdaire 18 mois) with you. Any other time, if you are worried.

Cost

Free and voluntary, in every region of Quebec.
