Privacy — Urgences Québec: temps attente

This app is independent. It does not represent and is not affiliated with the Government of Quebec, the ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux, or Santé Québec. The data it shows comes from the ministry's public datasets published on Données Québec: emergency rooms, clinic appointments, surgery waiting list.

No accounts, no ads. The app never asks for your name or email.

Since late August it does send usage stats to PostHog (we use it for the website too): which screens you open, taps, when the app opens or closes, errors and crashes. Those come with the phone model and the Android or iOS version and app version. Each install gets a random number, not tied to a name or account. PostHog sees the IP address and guesses the city from it, roughly. We look at this to see which screens get used and to fix crashes. We don't sell any of it.

The only sensitive permission is location, and even then: if you turn on "Near me", the distance math happens entirely on your phone. Your location is never sent to our servers or to anyone else. You can also just decline the permission, the app still works — you pick your region by hand instead.

Network-wise, the app downloads public ER crowding data from sante.handled.tools. Same source as the website: the ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux, via Données Québec. Those requests carry no identifiers. As with any Internet connection the server sees an IP address go by; we don't log it.

For alerts, if you set one on an ER the phone sends our server its notification token (Apple or Google provides it) and the ER's number, nothing else, no name or location. It's used to send you the alert through Apple or Google (Firebase) and you can remove it whenever you want. Tips go through the App Store or Google Play, we never see your card or your name.

Your favorites, chosen language and the last copy of the data (for offline mode) stay on the device. Deleting the app erases everything.
